Grand Final Action
With the unfortunate losses suffered by the U/14s & Colts in their Preliminary Finals, we have just 1 team in a Grand Final – the mighty Under 15s.
They play Mt Waverley at Ford Park (Ivanhoe’s ground) at 1.30pm this Sunday August 31st. Let’s see a huge turn out to support the Panthers in the Grand Final – it’s hard enough to get into them, and even harder to win a premiership………..so let’s make sure there’s a strong and vocal support group riding them home.
Annual General Meeting (AGM)
The Club’s Annual General Meeting is to be held at the clubrooms on Tuesday September 9th, at 7.30pm. The Agenda is available here for review. The meeting takes just 45 minutes or so, and the business is predominantly about reviewing the year, the financial report, and electing the new committee for 2009.
If anyone has any matter they wish to bring up at the AGM, they need to have it added to the agenda, by contacting the secretary Jenny Keogh. Visit the "Contact Us" section for Jenny's contact details.
Under 16's Campaign comes to an end
The Under 16s season came to end on Sunday when they lost their Elimination Final against East Burwood by 7 points. After going into the main break with a 17 point lead the boys were cruelly cut down by injuries to key players in the second half but bravely fought the game out to the end.
The club would like to congratulate Clem and the boys on an outstanding effort in making the finals given the numerous obstacles they have had to overcome this season.

Miller leads Yarra League to victory in Vic Metro Championships
The Dave Miller coached YJFL team took out the Under 15 Division Two Grand Final in the recently held Victorian Metropolitan Championships. In a hard fought match the YJFL came from behind to record an 11 point victory against a tenacious Riddel Districts side to go through the carnival undefeated.
Surrey Park was well represented on the day with Jordan Cheppi outstanding in the midfield and Jake Summers solid in defence.
Well done to all involved, the club is very proud of your achievement.

This is a great honour for Dave, and recognises his high level coaching skills and his great rapport with young footballers.
